Who we are

Root Technologies operates this website and research library. Contact hello@roottechnologies.ai with privacy questions, account requests or concerns about your information.

Information we collect

Registration collects your first and last name, email address, company, professional role, account credentials and optional marketing preference. Account services maintain confirmation, sign-in and security records. Research-interest forms collect your email address, requested topic and submission time. Email correspondence includes the information you choose to send us.

Hosting and email providers may process technical information such as IP address, browser information, request times and delivery events to operate and protect their services. Please do not submit confidential client information through this website.

How we use information

We use registration information to provide and protect your account and access to published research, send account confirmation and password-recovery messages, and respond to requests. Research-interest submissions let our team record your requested topic and contact you about it; these forms do not send an automatic acknowledgement.

General marketing updates are optional and require your opt-in. Research access does not require marketing consent. Withdraw that consent by contacting hello@roottechnologies.ai. We do not sell your registration details.

Service providers and processing outside Canada

We use Netlify for website hosting, Supabase for accounts, database and private files, Resend for account email, and Google Workspace for business correspondence. Cloudflare provides domain, DNS and Turnstile bot-verification services. Turnstile processes browser and technical signals to help prevent automated abuse; verification tokens are checked by our account or form service. External font and software delivery services receive requests needed to load site resources.

These providers may process information outside Canada. Our current Supabase project is hosted in the United States. Information processed abroad may be subject to the laws and lawful access requirements of those jurisdictions.

Browser storage

Signing in stores session information in your browser so that access can persist between visits. Use Sign out when you have finished on a shared device. The website does not include an advertising tracker; infrastructure providers may keep operational logs.

30-day retention

We remove website accounts and their associated registration profiles after 30 consecutive days of inactivity, through a daily retention process. Inactivity is measured from account creation, email confirmation or the most recent sign-in or session activity, whichever is later. An unconfirmed account is also subject to this period. You may register again after an inactive account is removed.

Research-interest requests are removed after 30 days from submission. An interest request does not become a general marketing subscription. Marketing preferences stored in an account are removed with that account.

These periods apply to the live website account and interest records. Separate correspondence, security and delivery logs, provider backups and records subject to legal obligations may follow different retention schedules. Deleted information may remain in provider backups until those backups expire.

Your requests and safeguards

Contact us to request access to or correction of your information, account deletion, withdrawal of optional marketing consent, or a review of a privacy concern. We may verify your identity before acting. We will explain any applicable limitation on a request.

Access controls restrict profile records to their owners. Published research files are held in private storage and downloaded through temporary links. No system can guarantee absolute security. A previously issued access token or download link may remain usable until it expires after account removal.

Updates

We will post changes to this notice and update its date. We will provide further notice where appropriate for material changes to how information is handled.
